~  Pet Tales  ~

Princie

These pages are dedicated to the memory of "Prince"

The best friend I had when I was growing up. He came to us on a Sunday, after having followed my brother home from church. He also left us on a Sunday, about 13 years later, when he passed over to the Rainbow Bridge.

"Pet Tales" is also dedicated to the memory of all the pets who are no longer with us...and, of course, the living...who make our lives a little brighter each day. :-)

BlueOnyx also supports the idea of spaying or neutering your pet. Unless you are a registered breeder, there is no reason *not* to do this. All of the animals in the BlueOnyx household have been spayed or neutered. It does not stunt their growth (*believe* me! ;-)), and they suffer no ill side effects. With all the millions of unwanted, unloved animals in the world, we don't need anymore. At least seven animals have been saved by this household, from the cold, hard reality of life in the wild. There is no winning the "miracle of birth" argument. And there are no profits to be made from breeding your companion animal. (If you don't believe it, ask my brother...who once had to deal with and feed 13 St. Bernards, and ended up giving them away. ;-)) Please help your best friend live a longer, happier life, by making an appointment today! Your veterinarian or local shelter can help you if you are unable to afford the full price. Don't delay...do it TODAY!

None of the felines in the BlueOnyx household have been declawed. Our furniture is "early attic", so who cares? ;-) If declawing means the difference between keeping your beloved pet, or having to give it away, by all means do it! But please consider all options before making your choice. Your veterinarian can help with alternative methods of saving your "stuff". It is, afterall, just "stuff". It can be replaced. Your cat is a living, breathing creature, that deserves every chance of survival. If your cat escapes the shelter of your home, a declawed cat is defenseless. When Buster was on his five week sabbatical, the only comfort I had was in the fact that I had never had him declawed. BlueOnyx does *not* support the declawing of cats...except in rare circumstances when all other options have been exhausted.

Lastly, if you have ever loved a pet...Pet Tales is dedicated to you. :-)
